150th railway anniversary

8 May 2010 - Sherborne Station 150th anniversary celebrations

The train first arrived in Sherborne 150 years ago on 7 May 1860. The Town  council had organised a day of celebrations including a procession to  the station to unveil a commemorative plaque.

At about 10:15 the Somerset and Dorset UK railtours train headed by Clan Line thundered through the station.
