Entering the village from the east. A view from the railway bridge of the railway station. This is a request stop only. The first passenger train stopped here in 1857. Click on the white building to read the plaque.
The Oak House Stores dating from 1607. Click on the plaque above the door to read the inscription.
Church Street. This building is now the medical centre. The building in the shadows on the left is the old school.
A bit further down Church Street I came across another plaque marking the home of Benjamin Jesty.
And this is the building opposite the plaque where he lived.
Another view of the old school. There is still a bell at the top of the stonework above the doorway.
I think this is the only hostelry now open in Yetminster. The old Railway Inn is now closed and I think it is now just a dwelling.
Not in Yetminster. This is the river Yeo at Smiths Bridge, Bradford Abbas. I was suprised at the amount of weed in the water.
Early evening light across the Yeo Valley from near Wyke on the Bradford Road. The left hand part of the ridge is Lillington Hill and the right hand end is Knighton Hill.
From the same spot a view across to Honeycombe Tout above Sherborne.
