A return visit to one of our favourite parts of Yorkshire.
Grey skies in the morning. The three story building in the market place is the Shambles.
Some views from the roadside near Settle as we travel to Skipton.
Follow this link to see the pictures from Skipton and then Keighley.
Later in the afternoon we have returned to Settle which is where we are staying. Much sunnier sky now.
The Town Hall.
Situated on The Green in Upper Settle is this traditional old style phone box.
However, when you look inside you discover that there is no phone! Instead it houses probably the smallest art gallery in the world. I like the mosaic on the floor. You can learn more about the gallery and even submit artwork for display in the gallery by following this link.
There are even pictures inside the roof of the box.
They really should not have got rid of these lovely phone boxes. They are such a British icon.
The “Folly” dating from the 17th Century. Once called Tanner Hall. More information here.
Back at the market place with the Naked Man Cafe!
