22 April 2011 - Bulbarrow Hill

A return visit to look at the bluebells. The last time I took pictures of the bluebells here was 10 May 2008. The bluebells are about 3 weeks earlier this year.

It is very difficult to capture the true spectacle of the bluebells in the woods.

There was a background smell in the air of the wild garlic that was growing nearby.

I would not like to guess how many bluebell bulbs there must be in these woods.

After the conventional mostly in focus pictures here a few experimental shots in which I was trying to get a motion blur effect.

I think this is my favourite of this group.

I like the way the light plays with the colours here.
