My first visit to Athelhampton House and Gardens. Athelhampton House dates from 1485 when Sir William Martyn built the hall and enclosed 160 acres of Deer Park. Through successive owners the house was purchased by Alfred Cart de Lafontaine in 1891. He restored the house and created the formal gardens. For more information on the house and gardens follow this link.
