We decided to ascend from the steeper side on the right.

Leaving Horton and starting the climb.

The large quarry on the other side of the valley.

A closer look at the peak. The lower band of rock is carboniferous limestone with a cap of millstone grit.

Limestone cliffs.

IMG_2905

We think this is a chickweed of some sort. It was quite tiny. Just below the limsetone cliffs.

A nice purple patch of heather

The sun catching the western end.

Approaching Horton.

A fine pair of horns. We think these are Swaldales.
