The Dutch garden and a view of the medieval house.
At the start of the garden tour we looked inside the old Great Barn.
The barn is a three floor construction.
The core of Sizergh Castle dates from the 14th century and it was extended in Elizabethan times. In the 18th century the great hall was expanded in the Georgian style. This is a shot across the mirror lake.
A view from the Castle terrace across the lake.
This is the hot wall with vines growing on it.
An obliging small Tortoiseshell butterfly in the hot wall flower borders.
The limestone rock garden.
The medieval house entrance and courtyard.
July 2018 - A return visit on a hot summers day.
The house and courtyard.
On this visit the mirror lake was not looking much like a mirror due to the large amount of weed.
