Stourpaine was our destination on a cycle ride from Sturminster Newton on the recently extended trailway which follows the old Somerset and Dorset railway track.

The village church of Holy Trinity.

Building on the site of the present church began in 1190. By the mid 19th century the church was in a bad state of repair and only the tower could be saved. At this time a new chancel and nave were built and where possible elements of the old church were incorporated.
