I have driven through Warminster many times but never stopped to have a wander about. Here are a few pictures from my first walking visit.
The obelisk at the corner of Silver Street and Vicarage Street.
The plaque on the obelisk.
Church street and one of the Warminster School buildings.
The Minster church of St Denys. This is the oldest church in Warminster. It stands near the site of the original Saxon church and was extensively rebuilt during the 11th, 15th, and 19th centuries.
The Farmers hotel at the junction of Silver Street and Sambourne Road.
The old licensing details above the door of the Farmers hotel.
St Lawrence chapel, Market Place. The chapel is a peculiar outside the control of the church of England. It dates from the 13th century.
The Old Bell Hotel on Market Place.
