February 2013 - The House that moved. This old house, also known as the merchants house,  used to be located at 16 Edmund Street. It is thought to date back to the 14th century. During the post war planning it was decided to build the new inner bypass and No 16 was scheduled for demolition. However, at the last moment a listed building order was put in place to save the house. In 1961 the house was jacked up and moved to its new location by the old West Gate. February 2013 - Stepcote Hill. This street is one of the oldest surviving parts of Exeter, located in the West Quarter. Its name comes from the Old English word for steep, rather than from step. The hill had been used as the main route into Exeter from the river since Roman times, and it was used by strings of pack horses, before New Bridge Street was constructed.
