A lunchtime stop on our trip to Dunkery Beacon.
A lovely old building in the High Street which is now the library.
Behind the modern shop fronts a sad old boarded up building that was probably at the centre of town life.
Silver Street. The old reading rooms.
Golden Hill. Reminiscent of Gold Hill in Shaftesbury. We were looking for the brewery. We could smell the aroma of hops and malt.
This is the current Golden Hill Brewery.
The rest of the current brewery with the elegant red brick buildings of the old brewery in the background. Shame the old place is not used!
A closer look at the old brewery.
Back in the High Street.
Wiveliscombe House. The community centre.
West Street. The old garage.
The very quiet West Street.
