17 August 2008 - Worbarrow Bay

Another leg on our way to walking the entire Dorset Coast path.
For this section we parked at Tyneham and walked down to the beach at Worbarrow, turned left and walked to the top of Gad Cliff where we finished our last walk. We then turned round and walked towards Lulworth as far as Arish Mell. The map below will help to visualise our route.

Picking up the coast path at Worbarrow bay after walking down from Tyneham village. We first had to walk east to Gad Cliff, the last place we had walked to.

Originally our plan was to get to Lulworth and then walk back. However, due to a dodgy knee (not mine) we only went as far as Arish Mell which is just over the next hill.

Arish Mell. We walked to the base of the next climb and then turned round. So next time we will walk from Lulworth to here.

Back at Flowers Barrow. A good part of this ancient hill fort has been lost due to cliff erosion. Follow this link to see an aerial view of the fort to see how much has gone.

Time to rest the sore knees!
