Wraxall

The parish of Wraxall lies about 2 miles south of Evershot as the crow flies. It is situated in a valley in the chalk hills of the Dorset Downs. Within the parish there are two hamlets of Upper and Lower Wraxall. The parish church situated in Lower Wraxall is dedicated to St Mary. The origin of the name Wraxall, shared with several other villages in Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset, is thought to be "a nook of land frequented by buzzards".
It was a pretty damp day on our visit. Hence the grey pictures.
